Full course description
Background and purpose
This e-learning course was developed by the Raoul Wallenberg Institute in 2022, in collaboration with United Nations in Botswana, and in consultation with local stakeholders, as a UNDP - OHCHR initiative, supported by the UNDP Global Programme and the UNSDG Human Rights Mainstreaming Mechanism.
The aim of the course is to increase knowledge and awareness among stakeholders in Botswana about human rights and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the country, the role of key stakeholders - including the United Nations, Government agencies, the private sector and civil society, institutional arrangements, and key issues.
The course is expected to contribute to identifying synergies between human rights and the SDGs in implementation roles and responsibilities, to increase achievements on both human rights and SDG targets, and to strengthen institutional arrangements and processes.
Its contents focus on the local context in Botswana, while locating Botswana in the broader regional and global contexts.
Certification
Upon completion of course requirements, participants will receive an email containing their personal certificate.
Time requirements
Participants should expect to dedicate approximately 3-4 hours to the course to be able to pass the final test. It should be noted that it might take shorter, or longer, time than this, depending on for instance how much each participant knows about the topics discussed before they start the course.
